9th to 16th August 2017
EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner in the project “Changing the Picture”, which will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, between the 9th and 16th of August 2017.
The project will support the participants to communicate, to interact with different cultures, nationalities and social spheres, to share and recreate important to them and the society stories in a creative and accessible way – through social photography. The project will also support the participants to engage actively in their community and to explore their place in it, to express their opinion, to be part of social dialogue, which will develop their civic and social conscience.
The participants will receive knowledge and practical skills to identify and address actual social issues, to share and to seek dialogue and support through social photography. The project will develop personal, social and technical skills in that relation through non-formal methods and an exhibition will be realised, prepared by the participants themselves. The project aims to develop practical skills on how to use photography as tool for communication, self-expression and help in creating visual messages to others and ourselves.
The objectives of the project are:
- To provide to 25 participants knowledge on the process of creation of visual product and telling a story in a social context;
- To promote social inclusion, solidarity and empathy to socially excluded groups through workshops, discussions and exhibition on social topics at the end of the project;
- To support the youth to develop practical skills to address issues in their community related to social exclusion, prejudices, discrimination, violation of human rights, marginalization, poverty, unemployment;
- To support 25 participants to show creativity and innovation, to create their own product (exhibition) in order to provoke interest towards the art of photography..
