The Art of ENQuETE – Experimental Non-Partisan Questioning of Enduring Technologies in the Economy ENQuETE, from 1 June 2013 to 30 April 2015, is co-funded by the Culture Programme of the European Union.

The aim of the project is to improve the living conditions of European citizens in particular through the arts. Art can offer a viable way to move beyond the moment when we realise that the rights and attitudes we have previously taken for granted have been irreversibly affected by the “unleashing” force of the financial markets in force. That is why ENQuETE art aims to invent a tool for a better future. These “tools” will enable, sustain and improve our lives outside the market.

Following the idea of “public questioning”, the official review of events or activities ordered by a governmental body, ENQuETE art stimulates the imagination of the working group to seek solutions in areas of public and private life that have been dramatically distorted by the culture of greed.

Invited artists will develop lasting visions – with the help of citizens, scientists, politicians and women entrepreneurs – in the following areas: financial system, nutrition, health, work, climate.

We have conceived ENQuETE as a series of exhibitions, workshops, public conferences, public space actions and media campaigns in rural zones as well as in metropolises.
The project brought together eleven co-organisers and partners from five European countries, working in cultural fields as diverse as art, social research, education and innovation. This diverse group of schools, NGOs, foundations, arts organisations and development agencies and their wide range of low-threshold, interdisciplinary activities are aimed at developing a diverse audience of citizens: from children to the elderly, entrepreneurs to employees, civil servants and social activists.

All activities encourage civic participation, foster creativity, help improve social skills and promote the building of a responsible civil society. They mobilise local communities through an exemplary grassroots approach to inform people about the needs of their community, guided by a sense of solidarity.
