The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner in the Leadership/Leadership project – training to improve the skills of youth leaders in youth exchanges. The training will take place in Cruz Quebrada, Portugal, from 3 to 10 November 2016.

The Leadership/Leadership Training is a 7-day training designed to improve the leadership skills of youth leaders on youth exchanges. It will take place from 3 to 10 November 2016 in Cruz Quebrada, Portugal. The project will bring together 34 young people from different countries (Portugal, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lithuania, Hungary, France and Poland), including three participants from Slovenia.

The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of youth exchanges (under the Youth in Action programme). This will be achieved by creating a space for youth exchange leaders to develop their skills, focusing on motivation and learning support.

In order to achieve the main objective, the following project objectives have been identified:

  • To encourage and facilitate an active approach to the design of appropriate motivation models.
  • Achieving results and disseminating them (applying the lessons learned in practice, in local organisations, in international projects).
  • Raising awareness of the importance of youth exchanges and the value of the knowledge that youth work brings to the individual at a personal and professional level.
  • Facilitate reflective reflection on personal motivation for leadership, self-evaluation.
  • Develop creative and communication skills, support intercultural exchanges, promote mutual understanding between young people in different countries (which contributes to increasing the quality of youth exchanges).
  • Work on key competences for active participation between young people.

Training participants:

  • Youth workers actively working with young people, professionally or on a voluntary basis. Active attitude to work is a prerequisite.
  • Participants must be over 18 years of age, but there is no upper age limit.

Most of the activities will take place in the Casa Europa building (former primary school), but otherwise participants will be accommodated in the student hostels.
