On 13 May in Ljubljana, the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., attended the National Meeting of Youth and Decision Makers, National Meeting of Structured Dialogue, organised by the Youth Council of Slovenia and the MaMa Youth Network.

The event presented different levels of cooperation between young people and decision-makers at local level in Slovenia, presented examples of good practices, defined the causes of (non-)cooperation between young people and decision-makers and the search for ways to increase cooperation between young people and municipal representatives.

As young people are an important part of society, it is crucial that we have the opportunity to be actively involved in (co)decision-making on important issues at all levels of decision-making in society. To this end, the meeting aimed to show ways to establish long-lasting partnerships between young people and municipal representatives and to raise awareness among all actors about the importance of young people’s involvement and (co)participation in society.

The meeting gave young people the opportunity to express their views and to highlight what needs to be changed to ensure that young people’s voices are heard.
