Year 2015
Slovenia

On 30 June 2016, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia took note of the Joint Report on Volunteering in the Republic of Slovenia for 2015.

Voluntary work is a strong presence in Slovenian society, helping us to solve social problems and identify problems and individuals who fall through the gaps in the system. The migrant crisis in 2015 would have been virtually unmanageable without the help of volunteers. The advantage of volunteering is precisely its rapid and effective response to social change.

Volunteering makes an important contribution to reducing poverty and promoting an active population in all fields of activity, and it is very important that the State is aware of this and plays an active role in promoting and encouraging volunteering.

On 30 June 2016, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia took note of the Joint Report on Volunteering in the Republic of Slovenia for 2015.

1,037 volunteering organisations reported on their volunteering activities, and the total number of volunteers registered in the Register of Voluntary Organisations was 96.822, with 10.878.360 hours of volunteering. The total amount of organised voluntary work amounted to EUR 106.318.802,00, which undoubtedly demonstrates the significant contribution of voluntary work to the general social well-being in the Republic of Slovenia.
