\nThe most beautiful river Drava, Maribor<\/h3>\n

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., does not shy away from the fact that the future of our planet must also be faced. In 1987, the UN General Assembly signed the Montreal Agreement and declared 16 September as International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer.
\n<\/p>\n

On this day, we want to raise awareness about the importance of the ozone layer among young people and the general public in Maribor. Ozone, which is mainly distributed in the air in layers between 10 and 50 kilometres, with the highest concentration in the layer between 19 and 23 kilometres above sea level, plays a very important role for life on earth, protecting us from the dangerous part of ultraviolet radiation.<\/p>\n

According to the Environment Agency, the ozone layer is projected to shrink by 2.9% every ten years, with a 1% reduction in the layer translating into a 1.3% increase in ultraviolet radiation at ground level.<\/p>\n

The event on 15 September, the day before the Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, will consist of a lecture by a youth worker on the importance of young people’s active citizenship in protecting our planet and a workshop to make everyday products from recycled materials. The day will culminate in a sandolini (kayak) trip down the River Drava to the Maribor Lent.<\/p>\n

The event will be followed by a social event.<\/p>\n
