This year, the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is again preparing a fresh edition of the concert series “Classics Today? tomorrow?”. This year, we are also moving the concerts outdoors, so the second event in the series, a concert by the brass quintet S.A.M.B.A., will take place in front of the Epeka Gallery, on the renovated Koro\u0161ka Street, just a stone’s throw from the Main Square.

The beginning of the brass quintet S.A.M.B.A dates back to 2017, when five brass players gathered for the first rehearsal with the aim of promoting brass instruments throughout Pomurje. All five classically trained professional musicians, who completed their studies in Slovenia, Austria and Germany, share a love for this kind of music, which is why the performance is of a particularly high standard. From a few promotional, locally performed concerts, the matter has grown out of the box and the quintet is also appearing at major concerts around Slovenia. As all brass instruments from the high and low register are included, it is possible to play a wide variety of music by different composers; genres from baroque, through classical, to pop-rock, and it is also possible to find all sorts of arrangements for this form of ensemble. The ensemble’s vision is to further expand its activities and continue to promote brass band music. The concert series is supported by the Municipality of Maribor.<\/p>\n ____________________<\/p>\n IMPORTANT NOTICE!<\/p>\n In order to respect the preventive measures to prevent and limit the spread of covid-19, we kindly ask the event visitors to attend the event only healthy persons without any signs of respiratory infection, and to maintain a proper safety distance of 1.5 m between each other at the event itself, to take care of proper coughing\/sneezing hygiene, and to follow other safety instructions of the organiser.<\/p>\n In accordance with Article 2 of the Ordinance amending and supplementing the Ordinance on the temporary general restriction or prohibition of gatherings of people in the Republic of Slovenia (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 96\/20), the organiser of the event is obliged to keep a list of the people present. To this end, all visitors are requested to provide the organiser with the following information on arrival at the event: name and surname and address of residence. If the NIJZ does not request the attendance data within one month from the date of the event, the data will be securely destroyed.<\/p>\n
