The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., will participate in the final European conference of the #Civilhood project.<\/p>\n

The CIVILHOOD project, co-funded by the European Union’s AMIF programme, stems from the need to strengthen mechanisms for the integration of migrants who are integrating into the labour market, in particular unaccompanied minors who are transitioning to adulthood through civic education, an important yet sometimes overlooked vehicle that welcomes them on the move from a young age.<\/p>\n

The proposed action is designed to promote the treatment of unaccompanied minors as rights-holders in accordance with their best interests as children, to encourage their entry into the workforce in the new country in a way that is mutually beneficial for them and their host communities in the 5 participating Member States (Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Slovenia and Austria), in order to provide them with the necessary civic skills.<\/p>\n

The core of our joint efforts is to strengthen social skills and employability, to enable smooth access to the labour market and to ensure self-confidence after adulthood.
\nIn the longer term, we aim to influence the business sector in the participating countries by influencing national and European policy makers, unaccompanied minors and those who support them across the EU.<\/p>\n

The Civilhood project is not just a series of activities; it is a transformative journey that tests innovative approaches to employability and the development of work skills through citizenship education.<\/p>\n

By developing a curriculum and methodology specifically tailored to the unique needs of unaccompanied minors, transcending borders and languages, integrating the reflections that emerge from this experience, creating an effective network of stakeholders and child protection professionals who can provide support and quality input to the development of integration policies through training and employability measures.<\/p>\n
