{"id":6603,"date":"2015-06-29T00:36:05","date_gmt":"2015-06-29T00:36:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/epeka.si\/?p=6603\/"},"modified":"2023-12-27T15:28:22","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T15:28:22","slug":"razstava-simone-suc-krogi-tam-dalec-luksemburg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epeka.si\/en\/razstava-simone-suc-krogi-tam-dalec-luksemburg\/","title":{"rendered":"Simona \u0160uc: Circles Far Away, Luxembourg"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">July, August, 2015<br \/>\nLuxembourg<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, is organising an exhibition, Circles Far Away, by the Slovenian academic painter Simona \u0160uc, at the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg in July and August.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After last year&#8217;s successful exhibition, Blurred Future, by Slovenian painter Jernej Forbici, we are now continuing with the presentation of Slovenian artists abroad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The circles there far reflect the work of the artist in recent years. Circles are one of the innovations in human evolution. Anthropologists generally agree that the invention of the circle dates back to long before the beginning of time, when the primitive ancestors tried to represent the sun as a source of life and a constant that is continuously present for the duration of human life. In spite of all the inventions that later came into being because of this geometric figure, the circle inspired Simona \u0160uc to create paintings that contain numerous circles that, although they are geometric figures, are not experienced by the observer in the sense of, for example, mathematical knowledge, but rather as an artistic creation that is close, aesthetic and familiar to the viewer. The colours are warm, expressing femininity and joy for nature and life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Simona \u0160uc was born on 11 February 1972 in Maribor. In 2000 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, where she studied under Prof. Gustav Gnamu\u0161 and Jo\u017eef Muhovi\u010d. She organised art-theoretical meetings in Maribor, where Slovenian artists of the younger generation presented themselves (2001-03), and co-founded the TU association, with which she carried out several spatial interventions in Maribor (2004-05). She participated in the restoration of sacral heritage monuments in north-eastern Slovenia. She participates in art colonies, art symposia and camps and regularly exhibits at home and abroad. She is an employee of the Maribor Art Gallery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The artistic programme of the Association EPEKA, Soc.
