{"id":79043,"date":"2025-01-16T12:24:53","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T12:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/epeka.si\/?p=79043"},"modified":"2025-10-15T14:28:43","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T14:28:43","slug":"materials-matter-non-tox-day-bio-based-materials-and-building-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epeka.si\/en\/materials-matter-non-tox-day-bio-based-materials-and-building-the-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Materials Matter \u2013 Non Tox Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">June 3, 2025<br \/>\nWeb<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Representatives of the EPEKA Association, a social enterprise, will participate in a hybrid international professional event entitled \u201cMaterials Matter \u2013 Non Tox Day \u2013 Bio-based Materials and Building the Future.\u201d <!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event is part of the GREET CE project, which will bring together experts, companies, and innovators in the field of healthy, non-toxic, and bio-based materials and open up space for new connections between science, business, and policymakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>More about EPEKA:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2023, EPEKA, a social enterprise, established the European Housing Cooperative EPEKA, an SCE with limited liability, as the first new legal body in Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What is an SCE or European Cooperative Society?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A European Cooperative Society is a type of cooperative society defined by the Council Regulation (EC) on the Statute for a European Cooperative Society (SCE).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main objective of a European Cooperative Society is to meet the needs of its members and\/or to develop their economic and\/or social activities, in particular by concluding agreements with its members for the supply of goods, services or the performance of such works as are carried out or commissioned by the European Cooperative Society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A European Cooperative Society may also aim to meet the needs of its members by encouraging their participation in the economic activities of one or more European and\/or national cooperatives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/spot.gov.si\/sl\/teme\/zadruga\/\">Cooperative Society | SPOT<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have set up an SCE in the framework of the EPEKA project &#8211; a housing cooperative for all, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development within the framework of the Public Call for proposals to promote the development of cooperative and social economy projects 2023-2024.
