The theme this time is Whistleblower Protection and ICT Against Corruption.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The training will take place in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from July 23 to 28, 2025. It will focus on the power of whistleblower disclosures, protection mechanisms, and the role of information and communication technologies and media literacy in promoting transparency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Key activity: Presentation of results D2.4 \u2013 Training on whistleblowers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Presentation of whistleblower cases.<br \/>\nThe importance of legal protection.<br \/>\nTransfer of good practices.<br \/>\nThe impact of corruption on young people.<br \/>\nEducational strategies for involving young people.<br \/>\nICT tools and media literacy in the fight against corruption.<br \/>\nCreating an anti-corruption toolkit for young people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Training objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Strengthening the capacity of youth workers in the fight against corruption.<br \/>\nSupporting whistleblower protection and information exchange.<br \/>\nPresenting ICT tools that promote transparency and youth engagement.<br \/>\nRaising awareness of the social consequences of corruption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Erasmus+ project focuses on fighting corruption through digital tools and youth empowerment. Our goal is to encourage civic engagement and promote EU values such as transparency, the rule of law, and active citizenship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the training, guests from Slovenia and Iceland will contribute with presentations of theoretical content, expert discussions, and participation in the creation of a practical handbook.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Project description: DigitalVScorrupt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Project description<\/strong>: DigitalVsCorrupt is an Erasmus+ CBY and WB project whose main goal is to fight corruption in the EU and the Western Balkans (WB) with digital tools and by empowering young people and people in the EU and WB.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Corruption is a complex social, political, and economic phenomenon that affects all countries. It undermines democratic institutions, slows down economic development, and contributes to government instability. It attacks the foundations of democratic institutions by distorting electoral processes and the rule of law and creating a bureaucratic quagmire caused by bribery. The World Bank has been tackling corruption for decades, while civil society and youth organizations defend the fundamental values of the EU, such as democracy, the rule of law, and common values.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Activities: meetings, training, national activities, youth exchanges, conferences, and campaigns.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of the project, we are implementing the first educational activity in Serbia on the topic of corruption in the public sector. Training for youth workers is an innovative and relatively new topic, but one that is crucial for building transparency, integrity, and accountability. The aim of the training is to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to recognize, prevent, and respond to corrupt practices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/digitalvscorrupt.akustikum.org\/\">Project website<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The lectures will cover:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Understanding Corruption<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Definition of corruption: Explanation of what corruption is, its forms, and how it manifests itself in the public sector.<br \/>\nPractical examples: Analysis of real-life cases of corruption for a better understanding of the concepts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Legislative Framework<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">National legislation: Review of laws and regulations relating to corruption and the public sector.<br \/>\nInternational standards: Inclusion of relevant international conventions and agreements, such as the UN Convention against Corruption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Identifying and Preventing Corruption<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Risk Factors: Learning about risk factors that can lead to corruption.<br \/>\nPreventive Strategies: Techniques and procedures for minimizing corruption risks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tools and Techniques for Fighting Corruption<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Control Mechanisms: Implementing effective systems for control and transparency.<br \/>\nEthics and Integrity: Emphasizing ethical decision-making and personal integrity among employees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Reporting and Response Protocols<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reporting Mechanisms: Establishing secure and anonymous channels for reporting suspected corruption.<br \/>\nResponse strategies: Protocols and procedures for dealing with reported cases of corruption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Interactive training methods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Workshops and case studies: Active learning through group exercises and discussions.<br \/>\nSimulations and role-playing: Scenarios where participants apply their acquired knowledge in practice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Evaluation and further training<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Testing and feedback: Testing participants&#8217; knowledge and skills and collecting their feedback for program improvements.<br \/>\nContinuing education: Providing ongoing educational opportunities to update knowledge and skills.<br \/>\nTraining on corruption must be constantly updated to remain relevant and effective in a changing legal and social environment.
