{"id":94265,"date":"2025-09-09T18:01:31","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T18:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/epeka.si\/?p=94265"},"modified":"2025-11-19T22:49:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T22:49:00","slug":"apartments-as-an-investment-vs-a-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epeka.si\/en\/apartments-as-an-investment-vs-a-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Apartments as an investment vs. a home"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">November 19, 2025, at 7 p.m.<br \/>\nTyr\u0161eva ulica 15, Maribor<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Association EPEKA will also be holding a cycle of workshops, lectures and discussions in 2025 as part of the program <strong>Living Problems of Youth or Youth Autonomy<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of the entire program will be to facilitate the transition to adult life for young people, also by empowering them to be independent in the area of \u200b\u200bhousing. The meetings will be aimed at gaining knowledge, exchanging experiences and understanding the key challenges that young people face in becoming independent. Through a variety of content, we will provide young people with insight into practical procedures, financial aspects, alternative options and the broader social contexts of housing conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the lecture <strong>Housing as an Investment vs. Home<\/strong>, we will discuss the dual nature of housing as a basic human need and as an investment good. Participants will learn how the growth of buying housing as an investment has affected the accessibility of real estate for young people. We will discuss phenomena such as short-term rentals, speculative purchases and the impact of global capital flows on local markets. We will also discuss different perspectives \u2013 investor, tenant and social. Participants will learn why housing has been increasingly treated as a financial product and no longer as a basic good in recent years. We will present examples of countries that have limited investment pressure on the housing market through proper regulation. In conclusion, we will open a discussion on how the politicization of housing issues affects the long-term quality of life of young people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to the limited number of places, we ask you to register in advance at <a href=\"mailto:epeka@epeka.si\">epeka@epeka.si<\/a> or in person.
