The Scientific Research Association for Arts, Cultural and Educational Programmes and Technology EPEKA, a social enterprise, is the promoter of the project ” Youth Work against Youth Precariousness – Pilot Project – the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent.
This pilot project, funded by the Ministry of Education and the European Union. It will run from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2026 and will focus on improving access to employment and activation measures for all jobseekers aged between 15 and 29.
The pilot project “Youth work against youth precariousness” is designed to reduce precariousness and discrimination against young people in the labour market. The total value of the project is EUR 87,060.40, co-financed by the EU in the amount of EUR 74,001.34, and the project will take place in the Podravska region.
Project objectives:
Improving access to employment: The project aims to improve young people’s access to employment through various trainings and workshops that will strengthen their competences and social skills.
- The project will promote self-employment and the development of the social economy among young people in order to increase their economic security and independence.
- The project will provide support and advice to young people on precarious employment and inform them about their rights and opportunities to improve their working conditions.
- Particular attention will be paid to vulnerable groups such as young people from the Roma community, unaccompanied refugee minors and others facing major obstacles in the labour market.
The project will organise a range of educational activities to help young people understand the issue of precariousness and develop the skills needed to improve their position in the labour market. Workshops will cover thematic areas such as labour law, workers’ rights, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and the social economy.
A youth worker will provide individual counselling where young people can express their concerns and challenges related to precarious work. Counselling support will include information on rights, education and training opportunities and support in finding suitable jobs.
The project will also facilitate networking between young people and local employers. The aim is to create job opportunities and to increase understanding between young people and employers about the importance of socially responsible employment.
The project will particularly focus on supporting vulnerable groups of young people, such as members of the Roma community, unaccompanied refugee minors and young people who are neither in employment nor in education or training. Specific programmes will be developed for them, tailored to their needs and the challenges they face.
EPEKA, Inc., with its awareness of the problem of precarious work among young people and its extensive experience from past projects, presents this important pilot project. We believe that the activities and support services provided by the project will help to improve the situation of young people on the labour market and strengthen social inclusion.
