Sonček – The Association of Cerebral Palsy Associations of Slovenia, Soc. Ent., was founded in 1983. It unites fifteen regional societies for cerebral palsy, the Association for Premature Children, Sonček – Sports Association for Cerebral Palsy and the Sonček Club.
More than 4,000 people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, their families and professionals are members of the associations.
As the national representative organisation of people with disabilities, the Sonček – The Association of Cerebral Palsy Associations of Slovenia, Soc. Ent., represents the unified position of the associations, negotiates common tasks with other disability organisations in Slovenia and with other national disability organisations in the world. It is directly involved in the International Cerebral Palsy Society (ICPS) and the European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD).
Sonček – The Association of Cerebral Palsy Associations of Slovenia, Soc. Ent., has the status of an organisation operating in the public interest in the field of social welfare, as well as in the fields of health, education and culture.
