The president of the Epeka Association, Štefan Simončič, attended the New European Bauhaus festival. The European Commission invited creators, designers, researchers, municipalities, organisations and other stakeholders to participate in the New European Bauhaus (NEB) 2026 Festival, which was accompanied by satellite events across Europe. This year, the festival has brought to the forefront the democratic involvement of residents in the creation of more sustainable, accessible and inclusive communities, as well as the issue of affordable housing.
The festival combines four key pillars:
- Forum – discussions, lectures and exchange of ideas on the future of the European area;
- Fair – presentation of innovative projects, solutions and prototypes that implement the values of NEB;
- Fest – a cultural and artistic programme with performances, workshops and creative content;
- Satellite events – events organised across Europe and beyond that promote the values of the New European Bauhaus initiative.
The festival is an excellent opportunity to present innovative practices, network with European partners and co-create solutions for a better quality living environment. The New European Bauhaus initiative connects sustainability, aesthetics and the involvement of people in spatial development processes and promotes concrete changes in local communities.
