Members of United Epeka, so.p. We took part in an international training and networking session entitled “Youth Work for Participation and Inclusion”, which took place from 1 to 8 July in the beautiful surroundings of the Pelister National Park near Bitola in North Macedonia. The event, organised by the Sumnal Association, was aimed at strengthening the competences of youth workers in the field of inclusive and community-based youth work.

Key highlights of the event Mobility brought together motivated youth workers, leaders and volunteers from different countries, with the aim of exchanging good practices and methods for working with young people from marginalized backgrounds. Key activities included:

  • Practical learning: Interactive workshops, study visits to youth centres in Bitola, Ohrid and Skopje, and simulations that enabled direct exchange of experiences.
  • Networking and partnerships: Focus on building long-term cooperation between organizations for future Erasmus+ projects.
  • Intercultural dialogue: A special focus was placed on the promotion of European values, solidarity and active citizenship, which was also reflected in the intercultural evenings, where participants presented their cultures.

Why was it important to work together? Participation in such events is key to building our knowledge on the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. With the practical methods we have acquired, we will support young people from different backgrounds even more effectively in our organization, and at the same time we have strengthened our international connections, which are necessary for successful operation within the Erasmus+ program.

Looking ahead: Dissemination of knowledge As part of our commitment to the Erasmus+ programme, the participants have committed themselves to carrying out dissemination activities. We will share the knowledge and experience gained with the local community, schools and partner organizations through workshops and campaigns, making sure that the benefits of this training reach the widest possible range of people.
