They have used natural building materials for thousands of years to make their dwellings, and they had a great deal of knowledge about the preparation of the materials (harvesting wood, preparing clay, burning lime, etc.) as well as about the building itself.
They used virgin building materials that had not been prefabricated, heat-treated or chemically treated. With the invention of new man-made materials, natural building materials, and with them all the knowledge that our ancestors had, were forgotten. Today, we are reviving what has already been discovered and verified over thousands of years of history. We are using natural building materials in a modern way that meet all fire, earthquake and ecological standards. We are particularly proud of the fact that we use natural virgin building materials with very little pollution, as they consume very little energy – up to 10 times less than in conventional construction – to produce. When the materials reach the end of their useful life, we can return them to nature without polluting it. Most importantly, we feel good in a house built with natural materials, and the cost of maintaining a living house (heating, cooling, etc.) is low.
