The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., invites you to a training course as part of the project Youth Work Against Youth Precariousness. The training is intended for young people between the ages of 15 and 29, with a special focus on young people with fewer opportunities.

Precariousness refers to uncertain, temporary, and intermittent forms of work, which often lead to financial instability and reduced life security. Young people are often unaware of the link between precarious employment and long-term financial consequences. This is why financial literacy is crucial, as it enables better decisions to be made in the areas of personal finance and career paths.

At the EPEKA Association, we focus on education and training for young people with fewer opportunities, including members of the Roma community. We have found that low financial literacy among young people is a widespread problem in Slovenia, which is reflected in a lack of interest in managing their own finances and a lack of active concern for their financial future. The influence of the family environment on the financial education of young people is also weak, which further exacerbates this problem. As there is a lack of research and systematic approaches in this area in Slovenia, it is crucial that financial literacy is included in formal education programs as soon as possible. Young people need to be motivated to acquire the knowledge that will enable them to achieve greater financial security and make responsible decisions in life.

The training program will enable participants to:

  • understand the concept of precariousness and recognize different forms of precarious work
  • gain insight into the negative effects of precarious employment, including in the areas of finance and personal development
  • gain a basic understanding of labor law and the rights of young people in the labor market
  • acquire knowledge to improve their own financial stability
  • preparation of individual career plans, including financial planning,
  • development of social and functional skills for a more confident entry into the labor market.

The program will be delivered through a combination of lectures, group work, discussions, practical exercises, and individual counseling. The training lasts 8 hours, and at least 80% attendance is required for successful completion, after which participants will receive a certificate.
