Sinagoga, Maribor

At the Synagogue Maribor, we co-organized an event on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of Roma and Sinti during World War II – The Night the Violins Fell Silent. The event was prepared in cooperation with the Synagogue Maribor and the Association for Connecting Roma Women Loli Luludi.

The program also presented the international project ROMA SOUL FOOD, which explores and preserves the Roma oral heritage through stories, music and cuisine. The project connects partners from Slovenia, Greece and Serbia and uses modern approaches to shed light on the rich cultural heritage of the Roma community.

The event was also attended by some distinguished guests, including Dr. Milan Brglez, Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, and Louis Mourier, Cultural Attaché of the German Embassy in Ljubljana. The presence of representatives of state and diplomatic institutions confirms the importance of such events for strengthening respect for human rights and historical memory.

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., thanks all participants and visitors and remains committed to co-creating spaces where the past is respected, the present is connected and the future is built on inclusion and diversity.
