The Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, invites you to an event organized by the Just Transition Network: Just Green Transition for Solidarity and Equality: Let’s Organize!
The event will take place in two interconnected parts. The first part (14:00-16:00) will be the first public presentation of the newly emerging Just Transition Network – our principles, guidelines and goals, demands and work so far – and will also introduce other good practices of organizing for a just transition, from which we can learn and draw inspiration. We will be joined by representatives of the British Climate Justice Coalition and the Solidarity Economy Center (Szolidáris Gazdaság Központ) from Hungary.
The second, workshop-discussion part (17:00-20:00), will be dedicated to short presentations by interested participating collectives, strengthening mutual connections and substantive and strategic discussions on how to operate and strengthen our joint efforts in the future. Several parallel workshops will also be dedicated to finding these answers:
1) how to achieve better public passenger transport,
2) how to expand agroecological practices tailored to producers, communities and the environment,
3) how to connect the migrant and climate struggle in efforts for a climate-just society.
The event is organized by the Network for a Just Transition, which currently brings together the Youth for Climate Justice movement, the collectives Ecosocialist Initiative Klas, Iniciativa Mestni Zbor, Gorička Gmajna and Razredni broj, the trade unions Sindikat Mladi plus and Sindikat združenega dela SILA, and the NGOs Pekarna Magdalenske mreže, Focus and Umanotera.
