Representatives of the Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, will participate in the online meeting “Housing Crisis: Public Banks’ Financing Solutions — State Aid Reform for More Homes”.
At the online meeting we will find out, how public banks like NWB Bank are investing in affordable housing — and how reforms to EU State Aid rules, especially the SGEI framework, could unlock more funding across Europe.
We will explore the Dutch Social Housing Guarantee Fund model — a proven, scalable approach to financing mid-range rental homes. This model attracts private investors by expanding an existing guarantee system, without using additional public money.
Hear how a public bank made this model work in practice, and discuss how it can be scaled up to deliver more affordable housing for people across Europe.
The session will also feature a presentation by Robin van Leijen (AEDES) on the findings of the report “Many more mid-range rental properties from corporations made possible by using the guarantee system.”
Speakers:
- Lidwin van Velden, President, EAPB – Opening remarks
- Tim Segboer, NWB Bank – The Dutch Model of Financing Affordable Housing
- Robin van Leijen, AEDES – The Dutch Guarantee System and Mid-Range Housing
- Marcel Roy, Secretary General, EAPB – Moderation and conclusions
