We are collecting applications for renting the first cooperative apartment

The European Housing Cooperative EPEKA, SCE announces a public call for the selection of a tenant for the first cooperative apartment for young people in Maribor. The purpose of the project is to test and offer a stable, cost-predictable and community-oriented form of living in practice.

The subject of the public call is a furnished two-bedroom apartment with 55 m² of living space and access to approximately 40 m² of common areas, where the selected tenant participates in the organization, tidiness and day-to-day management. The apartment is located in the center of Maribor, at Tyrševa 15. The expected start of the lease is November 1, 2026 (or earlier) for a period of one year with the possibility of extension.

The total monthly cost of the stay is EUR 700 and includes both rent and all regular operating costs, which provides the tenant with completely predictable monthly costs without unforeseen expenses.

The call is intended for young individuals and couples aged 18 to 30 inclusive, as well as young families where the applicant or partner is generally not older than 35 years. Candidates are expected to have a regulated status of residence in Slovenia, actual residence in an apartment, demonstrable regular income to cover monthly expenses, and readiness to comply with the rules of cooperative housing and management of common areas. Subletting or tourist rental is not allowed.

Priority will be given to candidates who are solving a housing issue for the first time or who do not have a properly arranged residence. The committee will score the submitted applications on the basis of their housing and social situation, young family, volunteering and public service, connection with Maribor, motivation for cooperative housing and proposals for the management of 40 m² of common spaces. Financial capacity is checked only as a condition and does not affect the number of points achieved.
