The Association EPEKA will also be holding a cycle of workshops, lectures and discussions in 2025 as part of the program Youth Existential Issues or Youth Autonomy.
The purpose of the entire program will be to facilitate the transition to adult life for young people, also by empowering them to be independent in the area of housing. The meetings will be aimed at gaining knowledge, exchanging experiences and understanding the key challenges that young people face in becoming independent. Through a variety of content, we will provide young people with insight into practical procedures, financial aspects, alternative options and the broader social contexts of housing conditions.
At the workshop How to Prepare for Independent Living, we will present the key steps for a successful transition to independent living to participants. We will touch on financial planning, daily household chores and time management. Participants will learn how to plan a stable monthly budget that includes rent, food costs, transportation and basic living necessities. We will discuss how to develop skills that are essential for independence – from cooking and cleaning to managing administrative obligations. Participants will also be introduced to challenges such as loneliness, financial pressures and organizing everyday life. In the practical part, they will create their own personal plan for independence. The meeting will offer young people tools for a more confident and thoughtful step into adult life.
Due to the limited number of places, we ask you to register in advance at epeka@epeka.si or in person. The activity is co-financed by the City of Maribor and the Slovenian Youth Office.
