Katarina Grabnar Apostolides, a member of the Epeka Association, participated in a project by Anja Jerčič Jakob, who has been working at the MGLC Švicarija residential and creative center since 2016 and often draws inspiration from nature in her work.

About the project (source – link: https://repozitorij.uni-lj.si/IzpisGradiva.php?id=169835&lang=slv):

The exhibition entitled Earth – Vision is part of the project Natural Materials in Fine Arts and Forest Art Education and is directly linked, both in terms of material and content, to the Tivoli, Rožnik, and Šišenski hrib Landscape Park. It is an artistic exploration of mapping and/or archiving a specific selected environment. The artistic research project Natural Materials in Fine Arts and Forest Art Education is linked to the artistic practice of the project leader Anja Jerčič Jakob, who has been working at the MGLC Švicarija residential and creative center since 2016 and often refers to nature in her work. The main impetus for the conception and implementation of the project was the desire to transfer the knowledge she has acquired during her practice and which is related to nature. In light of the sustainable renovation of education and the introduction of sustainable content in various fields of art and pedagogy, the artistic research project aims to explore the possibilities of introducing forest pedagogy content and the use of natural materials in original art and art education practice. We are particularly interested in incorporating modern and innovative approaches to both creation and teaching, such as creation and teaching in nature and experiential learning in the field of visual arts, as these areas have great potential for achieving the goals of education and training for sustainable development. The project team also includes artist Mateja Kavčič, a prominent representative of environmental art in Slovenia, as well as Katarina Grabnar Apostolides and the field of mycology, with the aim of incorporating mycological content into creative processes and raising awareness of the possibilities for interdisciplinary integration of visual arts and natural sciences content.

The exhibition and implementation of the project were made possible by: the Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana, MGLC, the Mycological Museum of Slovenia, and the PAPLAB master workshop for handmade paper.
