The Scientific and Research Association for Art, Cultural and Educational Programs and Technology EPEKA, a social enterprise, is the project leader with the title With youth work against youth precariousness – pilot project – The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent.
This pilot project, funded by the Ministry of Education and the European Union, will run from June 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026, and will focus on improving access to employment and activation measures for all job seekers between the ages of 15 and 29.
The pilot project “Youth work against youth precariousness” is designed to reduce precariousness and discrimination against young people in the labor market. The total value of the project is EUR 87,060.40, of which EUR 74,001.34 is co-financed by the EU. The project will be implemented in the Podravska region.
Project objectives:
Improving access to employment: The project aims to improve young people’s access to employment through various training courses and workshops that will strengthen their competences and social skills.
- The project will promote self-employment and the development of the social economy among young people with the aim of increasing their economic security and independence.
- The project will offer young people support and advice on precarious employment and inform them about their rights and opportunities to improve their working conditions.
- Special attention will be paid to vulnerable groups, such as young people from the Roma community, unaccompanied minor refugees, and others who face greater barriers in the labor market.
The project will organize various educational activities to help young people understand the issue of precariousness and develop the skills needed to improve their position in the labor market. The workshops will cover topics such as labor law, workers’ rights, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and the social economy.
A youth worker will offer young people individual counseling, where they will be able to express their concerns and challenges related to precariousness. The counseling will include information on rights, education and training opportunities, and support in finding suitable jobs.
The project will also enable the establishment of a network between young people and local employers. Cooperation with employers will take place through various events, such as career fairs, company presentations, and networking events. The aim is to create employment opportunities and strengthen understanding among young people and employers about the importance of socially responsible employment.
The project will focus in particular on supporting vulnerable groups of young people, such as members of the Roma community, unaccompanied minor refugees, and young people who are neither employed nor in education or training. Special programmes will be developed for them, tailored to their needs and the challenges they face.
Aware of the issue of precariousness among young people and with a wealth of experience from past projects, the EPEKA Association is presenting this important pilot project. We believe that the activities and support services offered by the project will help improve the position of young people in the labor market and strengthen social inclusion.
