International

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., participates in the international Erasmus+ project “SDGs Intelligence”.

The project aims to connect young people to sustainable action by providing a peaceful and meaningful way to become part of the solution through discussions and conversations that stimulate young people’s creativity and critical thinking. The project aims to harness young people’s motivation for action, raise their awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals and empower them to implement the Global Goals in their local environment. By fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the project aims to transform young people into informed agents of change who can make a significant contribution to the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainability, while encouraging their involvement in society on issues that are important to them.

The project aims to:
– develop cross-cutting competences in different areas related to sustainable development, including green skills and strategies;
– provide forward-looking innovative learning materials better suited to young people’s needs;
– prepare young people to become real agents of change and develop local initiatives and sustainable actions (e.g. resource saving, energy and waste reduction, carbon offsetting, sustainable food choices and mobility options, etc.).

Project implementation:
– mapping of good practices that encourage young people to engage in sustainable activities;
– joint development of a card box on sustainability issues to help start critical discussions on sustainability;
– training of youth workers on how to use the developed cards;
– local pilot projects for young people, organised by trained youth workers, where the card box is used in practice;
– social campaign to raise public awareness on sustainability.

Project results:

By integrating sustainable practices into informal activities, young people become more aware of the challenges facing our world. They will feel involved and responsible, leading to a greater sense of purpose and inclusion in society. Promoting and supporting sustainable youth-led initiatives will provide young people with leadership opportunities and a platform to voice their concerns and solutions. In addition, the green skills they will acquire can help them to find employment in the green economy and thus promote inclusion.
