The Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, has received funding for the project Youth Against Corruption: Tools for Transparency (Y-ACT, 017-SI-2025-71400).
We are pleased to announce that we have received funding for the Youth Against Corruption: Tools for Transparency (Y-ACT) project, led by the EPEKA Association, Soc. Ent., which will run from September 2025 to July 2026. The project addresses the pressing issues of corruption and lack of transparency in Slovenia, with a focus on young people from rural areas and marginalized groups.
Y-ACT aims to provide young people (aged 18 to 35) with the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to recognize and respond to corruption in their local environment. Through workshops, public events, and collaboration with local actors, the project will strengthen their role as active citizens and encourage sustainable change towards greater transparency.
Key activities will include four workshops on transparency and ethics in the public sector, the co-creation of a youth handbook on fighting corruption, three awareness-raising events in local communities, and a National Anti-Corruption Forum that will bring together young people with decision-makers and experts. The project pays special attention to the inclusion of vulnerable groups such as the Roma community, LGBTQ+ youth, migrants, and other young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The results of the project will be incorporated into EPEKE’s long-term programs and disseminated via its website, youth portals, and the distribution of a handbook in schools, youth centers, and non-governmental organizations. Y-ACT represents a continuation and deepening of EPEKE’s long-standing work in the field of youth empowerment, transparency, and a just society.
Y-ACT is funded by the PROTEUS project. As a CERV program project, PROTEUS is co-funded by the European Commission and runs from January 2023 to September 2026.
