What is Horizon Europe?
Horizon Europe is the EU’s flagship programme for funding research and innovation. Following the decision on the mid-term review of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the indicative amount of funding for Horizon Europe for the period 2021-2027 is €93.5 billion.
The programme tackles climate change, helps achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals and boosts EU competitiveness and growth.
The programme facilitates cooperation and enhances the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies, while tackling global challenges. It supports the creation and better diffusion of excellent knowledge and technologies.
It creates new jobs, fully engages the EU talent pool, boosts economic growth, fosters industrial competitiveness and optimises the impact of investments in a strengthened European Research Area.
Participation is open to legal entities from the EU and associated countries.
