The Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, took a closer look at Gmail (Google Mail) to see if the statement that it is one of the best mail clients, if not the best, is true.

We’ve taken the time to look at the Gmail features that will make your daily work of organising your webmail easier and save you many minutes.

Useful Gmail features:

  1. Settings
Interesting features include the display density setting, the language…
If you want to know more about what Gmail does, you can go through all the settings.

  4. Using the More and Less buttons

  5. Tags and subtags (10,000 tags, 500 tags visible on the left) – basically these are folders of inboxes for a specific tag or subtag. Very useful is the choice of colour for the tag or subtag. In one minute it is clear everything about the nesting of a tag, etc.
How to set a tag or subtag for a particular message
    There are several options:
    – it can be selected via the button above without opening the message
    – in the message itself via the button above and confirming the selection
    – the tag or subtag itself can be carried on the message
    – the message itself can be carried on the tag or subtag

  6. Tags are sorted alphabetically on the left
Use of closed brackets in the tag name [] to ensure that these tags are always in the first position, regardless of the initial letter in the title itself. These tags are sorted alphabetically within the closed brackets. You can select multiple tags for a single message, and Gmail keeps track of how many unread messages are in a tag or subtag by the number on the right. If a particular tag or subtag is selected, the number is highlighted.

  7. Easier monitoring of your inbox with more inbox folders (maximum five). With just three additional inbox folders, you can monitor your inbox more efficiently (a tag and an additional inbox folder Waiting for a reply, a Follow folder and a Read folder). These three tags and folders make it easier to monitor your inbox at the first level. The tags and subtags organise the messages at the second level, as they are essentially the inbox folders for that tag or subtag. The problem also arises to show in those possible five folders multiple tags or subtags received at the same time, multiple subtags in one folder? This is solved as follows:- use curly brackets {}. The space after and before can also be used and has no effect
    – between them, all the tags and subtags whose messages we want to have received in the additional folder are written
    – label:exact label name/exact subtag name1/exact subtag name2 (but only the last subtag will always be included! So if we want messages of subtag1 we will write the path label:Exact tag name/exact subtag name1 after the space

  8. Basically, the notation is very simple and this will be seen in the practical demonstration.
We just need to remember the following:
    – REMEMBER TO PUT A BRACKET AT THE BEGINNING AND A PARENTHESIS AT THE END OF EVERYTHING
    – ALWAYS START THE RECORD WITH LABEL:THE EXACT NAME OF THE LABEL
    – FOR SUBTAGS, LABEL:EXACT TAG NAME/EXACT SUBTAG NAME1…HOWEVER MANY THERE ARE, ONLY THIS LAST ONE IS INCLUDED IN THE FOLDER. WE ENTER WITH THE EXACT SAME PATH FOR OTHER SUBTags, THEN IT’S REALLY VERY SIMPLE. THE MATTER IS TESTED COMPLETELY AND IT WORKS.
