20 – 30 August, 2015
Strasbourg, France

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner organisation in the BalsiKa 11, D.I.R.E. Youth Exchange project, which will bring together 60 young people aged 16-25 and 14 group leaders from twelve countries: France, Germany, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece and Kosovo.

The main link between the participants will be MUSIC. Participants should be interested in music and willing to participate in the BalsiKa Youth Orchestra.

Topics to be covered: interreligious dialogue
Use of non-formal educational methods: questionnaires, poster-making, pedagogical games, discussions, meetings with experts, artistic activities, learning foreign languages, visits to museums, visit to the Council of the EU, one-day ‘treasure hunt’ in Paris, etc.

Aim of the project: To create awareness among young people that interreligious dialogue is essential for peace and reconciliation.

Participants will organise a concert in the context of the 1000th anniversary of Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg, through group work, and art installations to be displayed at the Council of Europe and at various locations in Strasbourg.

The working language of the exchange is English, but less proficiency in the language is not a barrier to participation, but an incentive for active communication and broadening of skills.

The project is funded by the EU Ersamus+ programme.

The Youth Exchange promotes the European YOUTHPASS certificate.

The costs of accommodation, meals and the programme are covered by the activity organiser or the host organisation. The proportion of travel costs reimbursed per participant from Slovenia is determined according to distance, which can be checked here: http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is supported by the Municipality of Maribor, the Slovenian Youth Office, the EU Erasmus+ Programme and the EU Culture Programme.
