Mobile phones, especially the keys and screens we touch often, can be highly polluted. Mobile phones can also be a route of transmission, as they can become contaminated if they are handled with contaminated hands.

This is particularly important in enclosed public spaces, but also in open public places where people touch various surfaces such as fences, handrails, benches, etc. It is important to avoid using the phone in shops, waiting areas and other enclosed public spaces. Also, do not place your phone on surfaces that can be touched by others. Also, when wearing a protective mask, be careful not to touch it with your mobile phone while talking.

You should also disinfect your phone and headphones, taking care not to destroy the device with liquid. Most mobile phones should be cleaned with a soft cloth moistened with an aqueous soap solution and, if necessary, disinfected with a soft cloth moistened with a 70% alcohol solution (ethanol) or a disinfectant wipe. Remove the cover and carefully wipe all surfaces of the phone with clean hands and allow to dry. Be careful of the phone’s openings. Clean the phone cover and headphones in the same way. Mobile phones with more sensitive screens may have more complex cleaning and disinfection methods, so you should also check your phone manufacturer’s website for specific information.
