Representatives of the EPEKA Association, a social enterprise, will participate in an online seminar
Impact & trust: Co-designing energy communities with vulnerable households.

The latest webinar in the POWER UP series will present the experiences of pilot projects in Campania (Italy) and Eeklo (Belgium), which show how local energy communities can become credible and trustworthy actors in the fight against energy poverty by developing tailored energy services.

Both pilot projects faced extremely challenging circumstances, ranging from political instability in Italy to regulatory barriers in Belgium. Nevertheless, they managed to find practical renewable energy solutions for vulnerable households by combining creativity, local partnerships and spaces for co-design with people in vulnerable situations. This session will explore their journey: what worked, what didn’t and what others can learn from them. Participants will be invited to share their opinions and experiences.

Moderator: Marine Cornelis, Next Energy Consumer

Speakers

  • Felipe Barroco, AESS Modena, will talk about Campagna (Italy): Working against all odds to create an energy community model
  • Jan De Pauw, EcoPower, will talk about Eeklu (Belgium): An energy solidarity model led by the municipality
