Piazzolleko’s performances are always more than a concert – they are an emotional and energetic experience, where virtuosity meets passion, and precision does not lose sensuality. Their music captivates the audience and takes them to a world where the nostalgia of the Argentine streets and the contemporary interpretation of musical art meet. The Piazzolleks are not just a musical ensemble; They are the cultural ambassador of Slovenian tango on the international stage. Through their activities, they have contributed to the recognition and reputation of tango in Slovenia and beyond, while at the same time preserving and developing a rich musical heritage that bridges cultures and unites generations. Their music is a bridge between tradition and modernity, between passion and virtuosity – an experience not to be missed.
The Piazzolleky Quintet is one of the most recognizable and respected tango ensembles in Europe, which has been preserving and developing the rich tradition of Argentine tango with passion and dedication for almost two decades. Founded in 2006 with the clear goal of recreating the legendary sound of Astor Piazzolla, the pioneer of nuevo tango. The quintet combines the elegance of classical music, the virtuosity of jazz and the passionate temperament of traditional Argentine tango. Their music is a true symphony of emotions that takes the audience on a journey through the melancholy, passion and energy of South American dance rhythms. The quintet boasts one of the largest tango repertoires, combining classical masterpieces, original arrangements and contemporary interpretations, allowing them to make each performance unique and memorable. In almost twenty years of activity, the musicians of the Piazzolleky Quintet have performed on almost 300 stages throughout Europe and China, recording three studio CDs and one vinyl release, which have been received with enthusiasm by critics and listeners. Eminent musicians also collaborate with the band, including the Slovenian jazz vocalist Ana Bezjak, with whom they recorded one of their CDs, which further enriches their musical palette. In 2025, the Piazzolleky Quintet went one step further: they created the Orquesta Típica, the perfect ensemble as it was known in the golden age of Argentine tango. Four bandoneons, four violins, piano, guitar, double bass and vocals combine power and colorfulness to provide a full, lively and moving sound, typical of the greatest tango orchestras. This ambitious project is a testament to their desire to deepen the musical experience and preserve the classical Argentine tradition at the highest level.
