Šalovci and Murska Sobota
Representatives of the Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, will attend the training: How to measure social impacts and obtain funds for social economy entities with examples of good practices.
Programme:
- 8.15 – 8.30 – gathering of participants in the parking lot in front of the Rutar center in Maribor
- 8.30 – 10.00 – drive towards Šalovac
- 10.15 – 10.45 – presentation of examples of good practices in measuring social impacts and obtaining financial resources
- 10.45 – 12.30 – short presentation of the Social Farm Korenik and the Mozaik Society, also from the perspective of obtaining financial resources and measuring social impacts, and a guided tour of the farm
- 12.30 – 14.00 – lunch
- 14.00 – 14.45 – drive to Murska Sobota
- 15.00 – 16.00 – visit to the House of Fruits of the Murska Sobota company (PE of Slovenian Philanthropy)
- 16.00 – 17.00 – drive back to Maribor
Companies that will be visited:
Korenika is located in Šalovci, in the very heart of the Goričko Landscape Park. After only a few years of operation, Korenika has become recognizable in a wider geographical area and is, by the professional public, a recognized example of good practice in the field of social entrepreneurship, employment of disabled people and people from other vulnerable social groups, and sheltered employment.
Korenika has established a system of organic production and food processing, so on a good twenty hectares of land they grow crops, herbs, fruits and vegetables, and they collect fruits in nature, which they process into organic products.
The Mozaik Association is a humanitarian, voluntary, independent and non-profit association that has been working to connect and meet the needs of vulnerable social groups in Pomurje since 2003. By developing social entrepreneurship, we ensure the inclusion of vulnerable social groups through their training and employment in development-oriented activities.
House of Fruits of the Murska Sobota Society
They first opened their doors to visitors on September 29, 2009. Visitors to the House take part in various free activities: foreign language courses, cooking, computer and creative workshops, sewing workshops, travelogue lectures; the House also offers free teaching aids for primary school children, organizes volunteer services and training for volunteers. During school holidays, they run educational and entertaining holiday camps and workshops. In ten years of operation, over 380 volunteers have completed over 30,000 hours of volunteer work and conducted more than 10,000 free workshops, events and activities, which were attended by around 10,000 different people, and a total of over 55,000 visits.
