Members of the Epeka Association will participate  in the 17th Citizens’ Energy Forum. The event, organised by the European Commission, provides a central platform for discussions on the role of consumers and citizens in the energy transition era and the future of the European energy market.

The main highlights of this year’s meeting will be devoted to current challenges in the field of energy supply, affordability and strengthening the role of households and local communities in a sustainable energy system.

  • Moving from words to deeds: This year’s forum focuses on how to translate the ambitious goals and policies of the so-called  Citizens Energy Package into everyday practice at the local level – in cities, villages and local energy communities.
  • The role of consumers: Traditionally, the Forum has focused on the perspective of consumers and citizens in a fair, competitive and energy-efficient retail market. The focus is on how to actively involve households and local communities in the green transition.
  • Key topics of discussion: Identifying and removing barriers to local energy projects, strengthening cooperation between stakeholders (municipalities, energy cooperatives, NGOs, companies and regulators) and sharing good practices from regions facing the greatest challenges in restructuring.
