ArtMar, Maribor
Artmar institute, a non-profit social enterprise, is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Slovenia’s cultural heritage and the encouragement and promotion of a wide variety of artists from all over Slovenia.
Every month, they organise ArtMar – Maribor’s art event, which takes place in the famous Castle Square. ArtMar events are a contact between artists and the public, a pleasant social event, a shopping opportunity and a chance to experience the pulse of the city. They include an accompanying programme for children, performing artists from different disciplines and exhibitions, and you may also come across travelogues, lectures or workshops. Individual events are often tailored to specific Slovenian holidays, and sometimes to European or World Days. Some crafts or arts are in decline – they are trying to preserve them and present them to everyone who wants to learn about them.
