The Government of the Republic of Slovenia informs:
In the light of the general epidemiological picture in the country, which is unfortunately deteriorating also in the field of education, the Minister of Education, Science and Sport, Prof. Dr. Simona Kustec, in concern for the health of all those involved in education and training, has issued a decision on a temporary and preventive measure on the conduct of educational work between 19 and 23 October 2020.
On the basis of the decision, distance education will be provided in secondary schools, music schools and primary schools from grades 6 to 9 between 19 and 23 October.
Pupils in grades 1 to 5 will attend classes at school. Institutions for the education of children with special needs and adapted primary schools will run all programmes in the school or institution. The educational programme in residential schools for pupils with special needs will be delivered in the home. The work in kindergartens, pupils’ and students’ hostels is also unchanged, and the Ministry urges them to encourage as many pupils as possible to go home in order to provide a safe environment for those pupils who do not have the appropriate conditions at home to work and learn at a distance. Foreign students should also be able to stay at home.
Distance education will also be provided in adult education and in vocational colleges.
Higher education institutions shall act in accordance with the decisions and guidelines of the universities or their members
In accordance with the school calendar, the week of 26-29 October will be the autumn holidays in primary and secondary schools, while distance education will take place elsewhere during this period.
For these purposes, the Government yesterday also approved the entry into force of a new 14-day decree making it compulsory for all pupils to wear protective masks if they are not in the parent department, and for all teachers from Year 6 of primary school onwards.
