Notice to all those who will be tested for COVID-19. As of 14 December 2020, the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is starting to inform patients about the results of the SARS-COV-2 virus test via SMS.

The NIJZ announces that the notification system for COVID-19 test results will be unified across Slovenia. The main purpose of the system is to speed up the process of notifying patients of their results, to relieve the burden on healthcare professionals and to ensure the same notification process for all tested persons in Slovenia. After the test, the patient receives an SMS from 051 285 886, to which he/she has to reply correctly in order to receive the test result. Upon a positive result, the patient also receives a TAN code for the #OstaniZdrav app.

How is the notification of the test results done?

Notification of test results is handled by an automated notification system managed by the NIJH. The patient is notified of the receipt of the result via SMS. When the patient replies, the system checks the matching data and then sends the result to the patient. In case of a positive result, the patient also receives a TAN code, which can be entered into the #OstaniZdrav app.

Procedure:

  1. The patient receives a text message from 051 285 886 that the test result is available.
  2. He replies to the message with the last two digits of the health insurance number from his health card (phone number and EHIC number matching check). For persons without an EHIC card, the system requires a four-digit year of birth for the matching check.
  3. If the patient answers correctly, he/she receives the result of the test in the next message. In case of a positive result, he/she receives an additional message with instructions on how to proceed and a message with the TAN code for the #StayHealth app.
  4. If the patient does not provide a mobile number at the time of testing, does not reply correctly to the SMS or refuses the SMS notification, the patient will be informed of the result from the point of testing.
