The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is organizing a film screening in Murska Sobota, as part of the EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal (EUYC:GD 2024-2026).

EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal is an innovative project dedicated to sustainable Europe, presenting the European Union’s green goals in a film context, contributing to the appreciation and understanding of the EU Green Deal, mainly among young viewers, and providing a platform for a multicultural approach to the green agenda. We successfully implemented the project in the period 2022-2024, in which we included almost 5,000 young people in film events in seven Slovenian cities and several thousand others in the streaming part of the program. We are continuing the project in the years 2024-2026, within which we have set an additional 23 screenings across Slovenia and online participation via the website www.euyc.green.

EUYC:GD 2024-2026 is actively co-created by the same four partners who were behind the success of the previous edition 2022-2024 EUYC:GD: LET’S CEE Filmfestival Association and Communication Consulting Agency Chapter 4 from Austria, Scientific Research Association for Arts, Cultural and Educational Programs and Technology EPEKA from Slovenia and Go Green Skopje Association from North Macedonia. A new partner in the group is the Ukrainian NGO INNOVATION GENERATION, which will launch the Ukrainian edition of EUYC:GD.

Our diet is polluting the climate. How big is the carbon footprint and is it true that our cattle are actually in the fields of soybean farmers in Brazil?

For the film Let’s Eat Differently – An Experiment, a field was planted with exactly the same foods that end up on our plates and that the industry uses to produce animal feed. The result is a field with an area of ​​4,400 m2, two thirds of which are located abroad. Together, we spend twice as much as we actually earn.

Can we change this?

Three families embark on a self-experiment. They start shopping regionally and rediscover cooking. The result is surprising. Eating differently is actually changing our land use and carbon footprint.
