As part of the Youth4GreenPolicy project  , we successfully conducted a workshop aimed at empowering young people and strengthening their inclusion in European sustainable policies.

Although the level of awareness among young people is extremely high – as many as 91% of young people are concerned about the climate – at the same time, 63% still feel excluded from political decision-making processes. With the event, we wanted to bridge this gap and counter barriers such as greenwashing, climate disinformation and ecological populism. The aim of the workshop was to turn climate anxiety into constructive social activism!

Through innovative methods with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) cards, the participants  embarked on a practical simulation game. In small groups (4-6 people) are:

  • Choose a specific SDG goal and find solutions to current challenges in the community.
  • We comprehensively analysed the problem through three key dimensions of sustainability:
    • Social dimension: Impact on people and well-being in the community.
    • Economic dimension: Financial resources and economic aspects of solutions.
    • Ecological dimension: Impact on the environment and protection of the planet.

Through group work, participants strengthened critical thinking, media literacy, negotiation skills and the ability to recognize green deception.

The event offered a safe and inclusive space where young people could share their views, connect local realities with the EU’s wider goals, and develop concrete local solutions to global challenges.

Thank you to everyone involved for a day full of creativity, collaboration and visions for a sustainable future!
