As part of the project With Global Learning towards Global Goals II, implemented by the platform of non-governmental organizations for development, global education, and humanitarian aid – SLOGA, a training titled “Getting to Know the Climate Office” will be held at the premises of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., in Maribor.
The training is intended for educational staff working with young people and will focus on encouraging the integration of sustainable development topics into their work. Participants will gain new knowledge, explore practical examples, and receive inspiration on how to incorporate environmental themes into their professional activities. The training will start at 9:00 a.m.; prior registration is required at: epeka@epeka.si.
In the first part of the meeting, Dr. Kim Mezga will present the work of the Climate Office of the Association of Municipalities of Slovenia, which serves as a good practice example of connecting local communities and promoting climate action. In the continuation, participants, under the guidance of the professional staff of Association EPEKA, soc. ent., will discuss possibilities for transferring good practices to their local environments and for integrating environmental topics into youth work. Through small group work, they will seek concrete ideas and activities for strengthening environmental awareness among young people.
The training will be based on non-formal education methods, including lectures, discussions, and collaborative learning. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, reflect, and formulate proposals that can contribute to more sustainable practices within local communities.
