Members of the Epeka Association will attend an EPAH Lunch Talk event organized by the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub.
Increasingly obvious climate change brings a new challenge that goes beyond just winter heating – summer energy poverty. How do heatwaves and inadequate housing conditions affect our health, and how can local communities take effective action?
The event will offer a comprehensive overview of the problem from a local, research and European perspective:
- EPAH’s Latest Findings: Presenting Data on Summer Energy Poverty, Climate Exposure, and Health Vulnerability.
- A good example from Slovenia: The Municipality of Maribor will present its experience with the Ready4Heat project and its strategy and action plan for heat and health management.
- Research insight: The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) will shed light on the demand for home cooling and summer energy poverty in the European Union.
- Open debate: An interactive debate on the transition from indicators to equitable and health-sensitive local measures.
The event is intended for decision-makers at the local level, municipalities, researchers, energy experts and anyone interested in a just transition and adaptation of cities to climate change.
