The Association EPEKA will also be holding a cycle of workshops, lectures and discussions in 2025 as part of the program Living Problems of Youth or Youth Autonomy.

The purpose of the entire program will be to facilitate the transition to adult life for young people, also by empowering them to be independent in the area of ​​housing. The meetings will be aimed at gaining knowledge, exchanging experiences and understanding the key challenges that young people face in becoming independent. Through a variety of content, we will provide young people with insight into practical procedures, financial aspects, alternative options and the broader social contexts of housing conditions.

The lecture Housing Justice and Discrimination of Youth will address the challenges that young people face due to systemic inequalities in the housing market. Participants will learn how social status, income, age or ethnic origin affect the accessibility of housing. We will analyze cases of discriminatory practices, from refusal to view to unequal rental conditions. We will discuss legal avenues for tenant protection and present institutions that provide support in case of violations. We will discuss how inequalities in the housing system deepen the economic and social vulnerability of young people. Participants will reflect on the impact of discrimination on long-term life outcomes, such as education, health and employment opportunities. The meeting will promote a critical understanding of the importance of justice and equal opportunities in housing. In conclusion, we will look for ways to connect young people, institutions and communities in efforts for a more equitable housing system.
