8 April, 2022
Roma Station

On 8 April we organized an event on the International Roma Day in the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., headquarters. (Preradovičeva 1, 2000 Maribor).

The conversation, which is a key part of the event, focused on the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the Roma community; especially on women within the community. During the event, we discussed the long-term impact of the pandemic on Roma women and what can be done within the NGO sector to address the negative impacts and consequences of the pandemic in a way that supports women from the Roma community to face the challenges that remain after the pandemic. The meeting was attended by two members of the Roma community; Larisa Kajtazi – coordinator of the Slovenian Roma Route project and Elizabeta Fetahi – a volunteer of the Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent. The event was organised in cooperation with the Loli Luludi Association.

International Roma Day 2022 was supported by the Municipality of Maribor, the Ministry of Culture and the European Social Fund.
