We invite you to join us on World Animal Day – a day when we draw attention worldwide to the importance of respecting and protecting animals and the responsibility we as humans have towards them.

World Animal Day reminds us that animals are sentient beings that experience pain, joy and fear, and that animal welfare is inextricably linked to our values and ethical behavior.

We are preparing the event together with young people, who will highlight the importance of caring for, responsible behavior and understanding animals in our everyday lives. We will place special emphasis on how individuals and communities can make a significant contribution to a better life for animals in urban and rural environments with small but consistent steps.

The event will also be enriched by employees of the Association EPEKA, who are also rescue dog handlers. They will present the proper care of dogs, their welfare and the work of rescue dogs in Slovenia – from training to their indispensable role in finding missing persons and providing assistance in crisis situations.

We invite you to celebrate this important day together, learn something new and together contribute to a better future for animals.

The EPEKA youth program is co-financed by: the Youth Office of the Republic of Slovenia, the City of Maribor and Erasmus+.
