Ent.., Slovenia, CHAMPIONS FACTORY, Bulgaria, and Innovation Frontiers IKE, Greece. At the meeting we will review the implementation of the project, with a special focus on local activities, evaluate all past activities, set dates for upcoming activities and develop a detailed plan for upcoming educational activities in Bulgaria.

More about the project:

Lifelong learning is a concept that includes a wide range of forms of learning and is usually seen as education throughout the life of the individual. In our vision, new media for lifelong learning (“Media4Life”) are no longer just one aspect of education and training; they must become the guide of the educational context in the modern digital society.

In 2018, the highest levels of adult participation in learning in the EU Member States were in Sweden (29.2%), Finland (28.5%) and Denmark (23.5%). In contrast, five Member States had below 5% participation: Romania (0.9%), Bulgaria (2.5%), Croatia (2.9%), Slovakia (4.0%) and Greece (4, 5%). Also Poland, with 5.7% participation in the EU tail, and only Slovenia is only slightly below the EU average of 11.4%. Therefore, we see a great need to provide more learning opportunities in which adults can participate and great potential to promote lifelong learning.

The main goal of this project is to educate educational staff with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to work with older and adult learners, using new media in the lifelong learning process to respond to contemporary challenges and promote social change

We developed the Media4Life concept in order to: 1) make better use of new media in the process of lifelong learning in working with adults; 2) develop adult education with new resources; 3) raise the competencies of educational staff and students; 4) promote intergenerational dialogue.

In this way, we want to create the preconditions for the development and adoption of modern solutions in lifelong learning using new media as a tool for social change.

The general objective of the “Media4Life” project will be achieved through the following specific objectives:

  • create a space for the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices in the field of adult education;
  • to improve the understanding of the use of new ones for lifelong learning of older people and adults by educational staff from different countries;
  • strengthen the role of older people in civil society by creating social dialogue and promoting cooperation, inclusion and belonging, and civic and social competences;
  • to get acquainted with new approaches and to find an innovative way of interaction between educational staff, pensioners, families of pensioners and on this basis to create a Handbook for intergenerational dialogue;
  • create a sustainable international consortium aimed at disseminating project results at local, national and international level.
