12 – 19 December, 2016
Sakarya, Turkey

The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., is a partner in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project Include me!/Include me!, which will take place in Sakarya, Turkey, from 12 to 19 December 2016.

Include me!The Include me! project aims to help young people and shape their thinking so that they grow into responsible citizens who are aware of human rights, respect nature and the arts, and live a healthy, peaceful and active social life. The growing hatred and inhuman reactions in recent months have only added to the urgency of this project.

The project is organised in Turkey, the first country in the so-called “flight to Western Europe”, and will involve young people aged 18 to 30 from 5 different countries: Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Austria and Hungary.

The project will focus on:

  • the acceptance of war victims in social life,
  • developing and promoting empathy and tolerance,
  • sharing experiences among young people, creating awareness among young people about refugee life,
  • the acceptance of innocent civilians, especially children, into society,
  • combating racial and religious prejudice and xenophobia,
  • preventing exclusion and highlighting inclusion.

The project aims to:

  • To bring together young people from the participating countries, to watch the short documentaries, videos and various presentations prepared and to discuss the themes they depict (especially refugee issues).
  • Finding solutions to the situation through brainstorming and critical thinking in a transnational dimension.
  • Creating social messages on banners, in the form of slogans, logos, colour expressions and handing over these signs to third partners.
  • Preparing young people to respond empathetically, to free themselves from prejudices through “if I were you” games and drama activities.
  • Filming real-life stories, developing understanding towards refugees and eliminating xenophobia.

The youth exchange will take place in Sakarya, Turkey.
