The EPEKA Association will also be holding a cycle of workshops, lectures and discussions in 2025 as part of the program Living Problems of Youth or Youth Autonomy.

The purpose of the entire program will be to facilitate the transition to adult life for young people, also by empowering them to be independent in the area of housing. The meetings will be aimed at gaining knowledge, exchanging experiences and understanding the key challenges that young people face in becoming independent. Through a variety of content, we will provide young people with insight into practical procedures, financial aspects, alternative options and the broader social contexts of housing conditions.

At the workshop Lease Agreement: What It Should Contain, we will present all the key elements of lease agreements to the participants and explain how to understand them correctly. Participants will learn which components are legally mandatory and which provisions are most often encountered in practice. We will analyze examples of well- and poorly written contracts and highlight pitfalls that tenants must avoid. We will also address issues regarding deposits, costs, notice periods and the responsibilities of both the landlord and the tenant. Participants will learn about their rights and options for action in the event of contract violations or unfair practices. In the practical part, we will review a sample contract together and highlight elements that need to be carefully checked before signing. The workshop will help young people develop self-confidence when entering into lease relationships and offer them tools for safe decision-making.

Due to the limited number of places, we ask you to register in advance at epeka@epeka.si or in person. The activity is co-financed by the City of Maribor and the Slovenian Youth Office.
