Representatives of the Association EPEKA, a social enterprise, will attend the final advocacy conference in Brussels, organized as part of the POWER UP project – “Powering Up Social Energy: Local Journeys, European Futures”.

This is the final advocacy event of the POWER UP project. A dynamic morning that will bring together leading voices from municipalities, energy cooperatives, social justice advocates and policymakers to explore the future of inclusive, community-led energy systems in Europe and beyond.

This high-level meeting marks the culmination of four years of experimentation with and learning from inclusive business schemes. As governments struggle to balance climate goals with social equity and rising energy costs, POWER UP has been working with local pioneers in Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands and North Macedonia to co-design energy schemes that are socially just, locally owned and economically sustainable. They range from social cooperative shares to facilitate members’ access to municipal energy from cemeteries to dedicated use for vulnerable households.

The POWER UP final advocacy event is co-funded by Horizon 2020.
