The Association EPEKA, Soc. Ent., in cooperation with Slovenian Mycological Museum, is organizing a professional excursion on fungi in Kamnik. The excursion will be led by Katarina Apostolides, a renowned mushroom expert and enthusiastic nature researcher.

The excursion is part of EPEKE’s broader efforts to strengthen environmental literacy, promote field learning, and connect people with nature. It will focus on learning about the diversity of fungi, their role in ecosystems, and their responsible and safe use. Participants will learn how to identify edible, medicinal, and poisonous species and will learn about the importance of fungi for the environment, nutrition, and health.

The entire youth program is free of charge for participants, as it is funded by the City of Maribor, the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth, and the Ministry of Public Administration. Other partners also contribute to its implementation and provide additional support.
